🇫🇷 So… what is a weekend at the Albury Chamber Music Festival actually like?

It’s one of the questions we’re asked most often.

The answer?

Imagine spending a weekend where beautiful music sets the rhythm of your day.

A sublime concert in the soaring Gothic beauty of St Matthew’s. Time afterwards for a coffee, to linger in the Jardin d’Adamshurst, or a conversation with a musician or fellow Festival-goer. Then, before long, everyone gathers again for another completely different musical experience—perhaps in the elegant Adamshurst Ballroom, perhaps beneath candlelight.

Some of the best moments aren’t planned at all.

It’s the conversations after a concert. Discovering a new favourite piece of music. Catching up with friends you’ve made over the years—or meeting someone new who shares your love of music.

That’s what makes the Albury Chamber Music Festival so special.

It’s not just the music you’ll remember.

It’s the places. The people. The conversations.

It’s a weekend to savour.

🇫🇷 Festival Artist Spotlight | Andrew Fysh

Every Festival has those performances people keep talking about afterwards. We have a feeling Andrew Fysh’s will be among them.

Bass Andrew Fysh has devoted much of his musical life to the music of Bach, the Renaissance and the great choral traditions of Europe. A familiar voice with ensembles including Bach Akademie Australia, Canberra Bach Ensemble and The Song Company, he brings decades of experience, scholarship and beautifully understated artistry to every performance.

Across the Festival, Andrew will be heard in Fauré’s Requiem, our Festival Service featuring world premieres by Australian composers, and the spectacular French Baroque finale with Limestone Consort.

We’re delighted to welcome him to Albury this November for Ooh là là!

🇫🇷 A little Festival secret…

If you’ve ever chatted with one of our regular Festival-goers, chances are you’ve heard them mention Adamshurst.

Usually with a smile.

There’s a reason.

Hidden behind its gates is one of Albury’s most beautiful historic homes, and for one special weekend each November it becomes something quite extraordinary.

Imagine settling into the grand ballroom at Adamshurst, just metres from Australia’s finest musicians. It’s one of those rare experiences that simply couldn’t happen in a conventional concert hall.

We’re incredibly grateful to Peter and Sandra Macleod-Miller, who once again open the doors of their remarkable home, making this unforgettable Festival experience possible.

This November, Festival audiences will once again have the rare opportunity to enjoy chamber music within the walls of Adamshurst.

If you’ve been before, you’ll know exactly why people keep coming back.

If not, we hope this gives you a glimpse of what makes Adamshurst such a special part of the Festival.
